For lazy folk like me, biothane is BETTER than sliced bread. Pretty,
functional, easy to clean (or not), sturdy, all the things I need in tack.
I'm still using the first biothane halter/bridle that I ever bought ('92) and
it would look brand new if I would ever wipe it off! You can get this stuff
from several suppliers, Teddy, our resident tack shop lady has lots of colors
and styles to choose from. She runs Running Bear tack shop and has a web
site. BTW, biothane is thin nylon "?", covered in a plastic lamenate type
stuff, someone else can explain that better. But I love mine, I have one for
every horse.

Well, thank you everyone for their opinions on the nylon halter/bit
combo. Along with everything else :) Guess what though, I have
another question! (go figure -- you were probably expecting that!)
What is a biothane? Can someone describe this to me! And does it
come in colors? I have to replace my current bridle and breast
collar -- so the only thing I am duplicating cost-wise is the halter,
but that's okay we can do that. I'll just leave my current halter
out as the one the barn staff uses when they handle my horse.
Someone mentioned that the 1" nylon dwarfed her horses' head? I'm
not worried about that -- Dixie has a big head (physically and ego).
And big feet. And big ears. But the washing part does have me
worried, that's why I want to know more about this biothane!
Thank You !!
Hope & Dixie (Are you SURE that gate isn't evil?!)
