World Feeder Bermuda Hay
I live in Texas and have just found out about a hay grown in Oklahoma.
It is supposed to be drought resistant, freeze resistant, comparable to
Alfalfa (without the blister beetle problem). The roots are supposed to
go from 6 to 8 feet into the ground, making it very hardy. Horses are
supposed to love it. It takes over and becomes the dominant crop. Also
chokes out weeds. It sounds just wonderful. It is expensive to get
started, but once started, you aren't supposed to have to hay your horse
or even give it grain.
We have an existing Coastal Bermuda crop now and are thinking of
overplanting with this hybrid hay.
Has anyone tried to grow or feed this hay? I'd really appreciate
comments.
