Re: RC: Stop, Don't ride in Pasture with Free Running Horses
We could all tell you the stories of injured friends, or self. Nice horses
who would never kick their human, still kick other horses. It is proper
social behavior of horses in a herd to kick each other to establish the
pecking order. Young stock running free will frequently kick up their heels
at each other in play. When they strike each other there is minimal damage.
My friend warring shorts, who just hoped on to bring her horse in from
pasture, was kicked by her other horse in play. The injury went to the bone
on her shin. She was never comfortable riding either horse again.
Isn't it great to learn form others accidents rather than your own?
