Re: RC: beet pulp
We feed shredded beet pulp. We mix the water in and by the time we hang
the buckets and call in the herd, it's only a matter of a few minutes
and we feed it right away. We don't soak it much at all. Susan Evans
Garlinghouse has mentioned that she even feeds it dry (is my memory
correct there, Susan?). I will also feed it dry sometimes and I think
they enjoy the change in pace...so we go from sounding like slurping
pigs most of the time to an occasional herd of teenagers crunching
Pringles!! They love it both ways and they tend to enjoy it more when I
vary it for them. Mine always clean it up so I don't worry about the
hot weather but if they leave any, I just pitch it. (Actually, we dump
leftovers (if any!) on the ground where the pigeons in our barn promptly
clean it up!). So, though I didn't really answer your question, hope
this helps!! :)
