Bad Breath & Constipation
I would appreciate help in finding the cause of 2 symptoms occuring at
either end of a hoses digestive system. This is a relatively new,
young(5?) horse belonging to the woman who looks after my 2 arabs.
Pipin was fairly thin when he arrived in December, and had very firm
stools. He was fed beet pulp and sweet feed with unlimited hay all
winter(it is still winter here!). He put on a little weight, and his stools
softered a little. When Janet started riding him last week she noticed he
had Bad Breath.
Pipin will be fed Probiotics, but it is difficult(if not impossible) to
find them with bacteria. So he will be given live yogurt as well. And the
vet will check his teeth.
Any other ideas? He seems just fine otherwize.
