Believe me you won't look out of place. You will see every type of athlete
(both equine and human) ranging from those who look like Brett Favre to the
Tom Arnold types. Worrying about what to wear on that first endurance ride?
Go to your closet and carefully pick out any two items that couldn't possibly
go together. They must be brightly colored and of opposing patterns. I
figure most people do that so that if they're tossed from their horse the
helicopter can spot them more easily from the air. As to tack -- hopefully it
fits your horse, but please don't bring anything clean or pretty (that WOULD
mark you as a newbie). Also, tie some of it together with baling twine and
you'll look like an old hand. Most importantly, you probably won't be able to
wipe the silly grin off your face and THAT will mark you as just another
endurance rider -- have fun and good luck :)
