Need Paddock Fence recommendations
Hi,
I've been reading ridecamp for some time and haven't seen this topic come up, hope this isn't a rerun. I am about to redo my paddock fences. Ten years ago, I made the mistake of installing PVC fence post and board. It sure looked pretty but has been a constant maintenance nightmare, the horses kick or bite it and it snaps into pieces, sometimes sharp jagged ones. I had to hot wire the top two rails, that helped but the PVC has become so brittle that if a horse bumps into it with any force at all it just shatters.
I am debating between replacing with either pipe corals (expensive) or treated post with 4 rails of flat plastic strappping (Centurian) , or full wire mesh. I plan to continue to hot wire on the top rail. Any recommendations on a fence that will hold up to the normal chewing, leaning, kicking that goes on and addresses safety issues, without costing an arm and a leg.
Thanks in advance!!!
