re: LD april lee
normally i let ride camp discussions run thier course without my opinion
added, just as they
do at a ride camp around the fire. my delete key works just fine, so feel
free to use yours
at any time. i've been riding endurance since 1978. i started on 25's, did
50's, 75,s and 100's.
if i choose to do 25's i'm not fooling myself or any one else. it seems the
fun side of this sport
is being put on the back burner. LD rides are not just filled with novice
riders and horses. there
are those of us who have been there done that, and find time and physical
restraints come into play.
because i have done longer distances doesnt make me the senoir class
president. why should LD
riders be considered second class citizens. not everyone has delusions of
international competion.
for those who do, more power to them, but dont look back at the LD riders as
is they dont count.
i've seen many (endurance riders 50+) who should have spent more time on
25's by the looks of thier
horses at the end of a ride.
your high school anaolgy makes me a drop out, but my entry money, my
volunteering, my managing
many rides over the years lends more support to endurance riding than
looking for another step
on the ladder to put you above the rest. "(endurance means 50's miles as
defined by AERC)", dont
forget, as defined by AERC (TO FINISH IS TO WIN), no matter what your goals.
every individuals
accomplishments should be recognized for what it is, no matter what distance
you ride. take
these comments as you will from someone walking by the camp fire.
my soap box and i will now retire.
thanks
