That's right. And I don't think it speaks well of an organization that
chooses
to do that. >>
I for one was always proud of AERC for daring to be more welcoming and
hospitable than organizations who chose to do that. We always rolled out the
welcome mat to newcomers and said, "Hello, we want you. Come try us on." We
have had pretty good luck in getting the newcomers to eventually join if this
was something they liked. So much for that concept, I guess...
