They have like 2 half-trees at pommel & cantle.  You sit pretty much on
the horse.  They fit a great variety of horses EXTREMELY well, although
the center of the spine can sometimes take a little too much pressure. 
Many riders construct a sort of "channel" down the center of the pad to
relieve this.  They feel very different too, something you may need to
get used to.

If you check out www.saddletech.com, they have a section there that
gives the names of people who have their measuring gauges.  It's also
possible to rent one for about $75 to measure your horse.  The trick is
finding measurements for the saddle you want.  The saddletech man (Mr
Ferrand) may be able to help you find what you need, as I guess there
are some manufacturers who are starting to measure their saddles.  Worth
checking out.
