Your LD ride could be lots less if you would charge a higher and more common fee for the 50.  Why is it that ride managers only charge 10 dollars more for the 50 milers.  No one looks at this sport as inexpensive.  And unfortunately the money saved does not go to the horses well being in most cases.   Or....

 

Charge a dollar a mile then add the 10 dollars (AERC fee) for the limited distance, then it is only $35, and you can make the 25 milers happy and keep your 50 dollar entry fee for the 50.

It seems to me that the 25 milers paying 40 dollars are footing the bill pretty heavy according to you schedule of fees. So where is the fairness after all. It seems like the AERC fee is just a new thing to grumble about.
