I am in the market for a new endurance horse and I think I have finally found one. He is 5 years old and ready to start. Today I just found out that his grand sire had congentil upper fixation of the patella (problem in the stifle). He passed this on to many of his sons but not all of them. This Friday I am driving from Vancouver BC to Calgary, Alberta to see him for the second time and meet with a vet to have him checked over. I don't want to buy a horse with a stifle problem. Is there a specfic test the vet can do to check this out? Thanks in advance for anyones help and advice. It is such a frustrating, time consuming thing to look for a new prospect. Thanks again.
