Animals deal with pain differently than
people do. They don't need the asprin
like we have gotten used to. They'll
be OK. Matter of fact, in all but a few
rare cases, you WANT the animal to feel
the pain so it knows what not to do.
Else they tear up that ligament or take
out those stitches.
You might think by buting your horse you
are doing him a favor, but you might be
doing just the opposite. If you are
worried about stiff muscles after a long
hard ride, learn massage techniques...
let him out to stretch and roll and
move. Unlike people he will stretch
himself through most of the minor aches
and pains even if he's a little sore.
The ultimate example of animals dealing
with pain is the race horse who sustains
a major injury at the track because he
just won't quit.
