Angie:
Omega 3 (a-linolenic acid) and omega 6 (linoleic acid)
are polyunsaturated fatty acids and are present in some ratio
in most oils, with the ratio depending on the type of oil and how it's processed.
What it does in the body (besides adding calories) is complicated and books
are written on the subject.
For an excellent web site try:
www.barleans.com/
or search on barleans (they produce organic oils for human comsumption but
also have excellent explanations about
mono- poly, trans and saturated acids.)
