Re: Feeding alfalfa when it is cold
Lynette,
Perhaps there is a difference in the quality of Alfalfa in our different
areas, but all   horse people here feed it with no problems, especially
to performance horses and breeding stock.  The CUTTINGS make a
difference and we try to feed  2nd or third cuttings as it is not so
rich as later cuttings.  I also feed oat hay, but alfalfa is what
everyone  who raishes horses here in California feed most often.
