I must finally comment
> Seems like a lot of people are confusing "Single people" with "Individual
> Memberships". I'll bet most of the individual memberships go to married
> people who don't bother signing up the family. Don't know why ya'll are
> so opposed to a few people donating an extra $10.
I haven't been paying much attention to the fee discussions. Actually I just
hit the delete button, but I did happen to read one or two this morning.
I am married, but I pay dues for a single. If being married required me to
pay for the family fee I guess I would voice an exception just on principal.
I have just been married for two years. (I am 43.) My husband as a boyfriend
had no interest in horses or my activities with the horses. As a husband he
has less interest. He rarely will go to the barn with me much less a ride.
He rode my old mare once five years ago around the pasture.
My horses are MY life, not my husband's. He has his interests (Zymurgy) and I
have mine. I will glance through his Zymurgy magazine, but he doesn't look at
my horse magazines.
As far as I am concerned there is NO family interest here for AERC or EN.
This is a SINGLE endeavor on my part. If I had another family member
interested and taking part with me then I would be glad to pay the family fee.
