I support  the Nature Conservancy and I do know that they try to protect
land from Man's abuses.  Sometimes horse trails are so badly abusive
(erosion etc.,) because of overuse so the trail needs a rest. 
Developers only care about the buck and destroy the land, so don't knock
the Nature Conservancy.  They are not perfect and I don't approve all
they do but any protection of land is good for our creatures. Betty
