Heart Murmur

Good morning! 
Just a question tot hose of you who ride or have ridden a horse with a murmur.
What may we expect from our stallion who had a bacterial infection of the
aeortic valve last winter and is recovered but still has a murmur? we have
been told to go right ahead and give a 25 or 30 miler a try. The murmur is
sitll there, but he has responded well to rehab and reconditioning.  We are
going to take him to teh Caspars Regional ride in late October, along with his
favourite old mare, so he iwll have the best possible experience. Are we being
a little too nervous?

I would love to hear from vets and others who have had experience with horses
with murmurs of any kind, illness or genetically related. Thanks!
