Shanni foaled

Hi to all :-)
Yep am in a wonderfull mood today.My endurance mare Shanni has finally
foaled,she had a long legged colt with weird marks on either side of his
hindquarter,looks like someone took a paintbrush and just swiped some
stripes onto him.
Now I can start planning for next year,Shanni is now 17 years old,she has
had almost 2 year break from endurance,thanks to my back and being
pregnant(which she was not supposed to be)
My husband sneaked the stallion to her,without me knowing.Even pregnant she
stayed muscled,not surprising after 12 years of endurance.
I cant wait to ride her again,six weeks to wait now,then we will  gety back
on track,threatened murder and mayhem if she gets into foal again.
Next year will be Shannis last year of competitive endurance,planning on
doing numerous 100 Milers and her Grand finale will be the Kalahari 300
Miler at the end of next year.(she will compete with Easyboots on)Then she
can gracefully retire to stud.
She has been a amazing little horse 14,2 hands,with a hindquarter second to
none.The only time she has ever been withdrawn is twice for being
pregnant.No leg problems ever,always sound.This after 12 years is a great
track record!
Shanni has a heart of gold and is one of the top 30 endurance horses in
South Africa.
Not many horses horses here in South Africa have managed to compete for as
long as she has.
Anyway before I continue on forever about the great love of my life
Shanni,I am delighted that she has foaled and that the foal is healthy
,this colt will be kept for endurance,cant wait to see if this colt can do
this,such a long wait though,but its Ok ,all I have to be is patient for
the next 5 years :-)
