need opinions please

Hi Guys, newby here needing some opinions. My horse and I will be doing
our first ride pretty soon. I would like to enter the 50 miler but we
havent been trailriding very much for the last month. But we have been
doing a lot of team roping and barrel racing and he(horse) is in very
good shape for that. He is a 6yo stock type paint, very quiet on the
trails and I will be riding an aussie saddle. So let me know what y'all
think, should I try the 25 or the 50 mile ride? I would just like to
complete the ride ans will pull my horse out if we have any problems.
