I don't know where you would find a conditioned, trained horse for
that price.  If you do let me know, the least I have ever seen is about $2K. 
I do know of a horse for sale in Auburn area you could probably get for
$2K, she is 7, well trained and conditioned just this year, but has only
done 30 mile rides.  The mare is 15 hands and out of Wazir Karahty
(spelling?).  My friend must down size her herd for the winter, so she is
letting this one go.
