   I wonder, has anyone out there ever tried screw in caulks?  A hole is
tapped into the shoe where needed and a removable plug inserted.  Then as the
need arises, the plugs can be removed and the caulk added as needed for
traction.  Lots of stiles to choose from depending on the terrain.
