Re: Limited Distance
Hi Bonita,
We've tried a lot of things. The cradle would not have worked but the
muzzle finally did work (is working now with modifications). It's just that
we didn't have all the adjustments right and he rubbed out the stitches.
Unable to put him on a line and hand water him because I work 8 hours a day
about 45 miles away and there is no one there to help me (I board at
someone's home and they work also. I travel 2 hours a day back and forth to
work. We also live in the high desert and they need to be watered a bit
more than several times a day. Temps rise to 105 at times but average 100
every day. The reason the vet decided to stitch again was that the previous
stitches were hooked into unstable tissue (granulated tissue) and she
debrieded the granulated tissue and hooked the stitches into some very good
tissue this time. You have a point about the picket line. I may try to rig
something up for him with the 30 gallon tank right next to the picket line.
I just hate to leave him alone all day for fear he could get into trouble.
He gets into trouble easily, he's very curious. Thanks for your ideas.
Believe me, this has made me just ill trying to get a handle on this. We
live in an area where they just don't carry stuff like muzzles, cradles,
etc. It is a very small town and the nearest bigger town is about 2-1/2 hrs
away.
