He was a total stranger, and I have never seen him since.  He was just
some guy who needed to get from where we were to where I was going on my
horse.  A hitchhiker, if you will.

He had never ridden a horse before in his life.  First time I have ever
kept a novice rider in the saddle by sitting on him :).
