How about when the horse is "offered" to the other rider? I've done
this a number of times. Sometimes I split the fee, sometimes the
rider pays the whole fee. Once at check-in we discovered that the
rider thought I was paying, and I expected the rider to pay (I had
offered him the horse to ride, but I didn't need that ride on the
horse's record). The outcome there was, he scratched and didn't do
the ride.
