One big DON'T: Don't fuss over him a lot and spoil him. Orphans need to
learn discipline, so try to mimic a mare as much as possible. Don't let him
rub on you or in any way dominate you. He will someday be big, and it won't
be fun at all when he walks all over you like a doormat. You don't need to
pick on him--just define acceptable behavior even at this young age and don't
settle for less.
