Thanks to all who responded with info and ideas on buying wool fleece.
Since lots of folks asked me to fill 'em in on my source when I found
one, here's the best info I got (the quality of the fleece was attested to
by at least three separate individuals who wrote me):
Rittenhouse Industries: www.snugglewool.com or send email to Ellen
Rittenhouse at ecritt@polaristel.net, or phone 1-800-476-7580.
They have wool available by the piece, you specify the size, or by the
yard, 36" x 54-56". The price per yard is $36 until 9-1-98 when the price
goes to $40 due to a recent cost increase. Shipping and handling will be
an added cost. You can order by s- or e-mail, by FAX (218-557-8735), or
phone, 1-800-476-7580. They accept check, money order, and
Visa/MasterCard. This is good quality fuzzy wool fleece on a polyester
backing.
Oregon Leather in Portland (503-228-4105) sells actual sheepskin. I didn't
get any info, as that's not what I was looking for.
