late night Swanton Pacific Results

Well - the field is very spread out with lots of
space between the first 8 finishers and everyone
else.  And running back and forth between 3 VCs
to get the results is difficult at night on dark
roads.  So what is available tonight is the 
following first finishers with more of the 
statistics available after it gets light enough
to type again.  BC and awards are in the morning
and reports will continue again.

The was a tie for first - between Sharon Westegard
and Wendy Merendini - at 8:45 and Larry Bowers
coming in 7 minutes later.  Then at 9:27 - Shirley
Delsart has moved up to place 4th.  At 10:16 - the
Texas favorite - Shelly Bridges - is 5th followed
by Ed Anderson at 10:20.  Linda Johnson and Ona
Lawrence looked like they tried a tie but suspect
the official results will give it to Linda by 
several inches.

For the Kathy Ruiz fans - she was still going 
strong at sawmill - having survived a stirrup
breaking - then getting dumped in the creek -
and riding a long distance soaked and with 
just one stirrup. She was fitted out with 
all sorts of clothes borrowed from the 
volunteers at sawmill VC - but at least dry.
She was still smiling when she left for the
Swanton VC.

The collarbone break for Lori Olsen was a 
clean one and she was out of the hospital
in time for dinner with her crew.
