back checks and Tevis

I have questions.
Do the horse's backs get checked as a final criteria for completion at
Tevis?
Could they get pulled or denied completion if the backs are too sore?
How are the backs graded for soreness?
What is considered too sore?
(Obviously, a horse can go lame if the back gets too sore and will be
pulled, but a horse can also have a very sore back without going lame.)
