trail funding

Speaking of trails-the August Equus [page 92] has a brief article stating that congress passed a bill that provides more than $180 million for the creation and maintenance of recreational trails through the year 2003.  The $$$ is to be given by the states through grants to private organizations and municipal, state and federal entities.  Organizations can use the money not only for new and old trails but can even acquire property for trails and develop trailhead and trailside facilities.
