I'll add my two cents and say that I had the same reaction ... why
preload electrolytes more than 24 hours before the start of an event?
It seemed to me to be way to much dosing of electrolytes.
Even for the hottest anticipated event, I never preload earlier than
the day before -- generally starting about 12 hours before start time.
Anything preloaded much earlier than that will just be passed out of
the body in the urine by the time the event starts anyway. And I feel
that the risk of excess outweighs any potential gain.
