starting as an adult

I, for one, grew up with non-horsey parents that couldn't understand why
anyone would choose to ride. To this day they still think I'm
crazy :) It took until I was married, had a family, and let the children
grow up a little to find the time and resources to be able to start this
sport. I still have limited time, but am hoping as the family gets a little
older, that one, they will ride with me, and two that I will be able to get
away a little more to ride.
At the barn where I take dressage/jumping lessons, it is split about 50/50
between the teenagers and the adults. I think a lot of adults have to wait
to start riding.
Just my .02 worth,
Carrie and the gang
