biothane girths

I have been trying out a biothane girth on my mare. I rode a different horse
than usual yesterday with it, by the time we got finished (4 mi. tops) he had
a sore on both sides. i put the saddle back on to find out what was "getting
him" the sores were right where some stitching is on the girth. has anyone
else had any problems with this? I guess my mare has thicker skin as I have
not seen any signs on her.
