Hi, Scott--
You did not mention whether or not this is a Quarter Horse.  If it is, I would
get her tested for HYPP.  There does not have to be anything that you perceive
as stress to precipitate an HYPP attack, and it wouldn't matter whether she
had water in front of her or not.  Something as simple as being in heat,
having gas or anything could trigger an episode.
