To Ridecampers:  In Digest No. 558, Sally Aungier asked for advice on
this subject, to be sent privately.   Since I'm AERC's Trails Chair, I
responded with a fairly long message.  If anyone wants to read what I
wrote her, please  let me know and I'll shoot it your way.   (This is a
private dream of mine -- that we all become activists to procure and
