Anne,

Some people put their name, phone and address on a name plate and stick
it on their halter.  Only problem is that they can get hung up that
way.  I heard that some people here in Florida tied their animals to a
trees during this fire crisis.  Pretty obviously stupid since they can't
escape that way.  The hurricanes down south gave us some pretty good
information about what to do in a scenario in which you can't
transport.  Don't put them in a stall or barn, put them in a pasture
that is free of debris with lots of water available.  Of course its best
to have the ability to get them out.
