Feeding Fat to Horses

Hello group,
       I am a newbie and claim to be an expert on exactly NOTHING! However, I
was reading about the Huns and their invasion of western Europe. Each warrior
had three horses and the horses were fed Lamb Fat, eggs, and grain (don't know
which kind of grain).  Yum Yum.
