I would submit that many endurance rides are "genuinely competitive..." When
horses can run 50 miles and the Top Ten has less than a 20-minute spread, and
the BC vet scores are almost all terrific, it seems pretty competitive to me.

Nor do they do well in endurance. On that we can agree.
