If it's the same kind of lime that I used to put in the stalls at the
Jumping Horse barn where I worked, it apparently will dry their hooves
out if you let the horse come in contact with it. I was supposed to
throw all the bedding back, clean the "pee hole" then sprinkle lime from
a cup over the area, then put the bedding back. I went through a bag
pretty quick, the Thoroughbred's feet went to pot (didn't have far to go)
and I got chewed out for using too much.
