Corn oil tends to be slightly more palatable. Canola is sometimes a
little cheaper.

Fats are primarily just a more concentrated form of calories. A gram of
fat has 2.25 times the calories of a gram of carbohydrates or protein.
Depending on the source, there will be *some* fat-soluble vitamin
content in the oil, but unless you're feeding some unusual amount, you
usually don't consider it as your "source" for vitamins A, D, or E. So
it's mostly just extra calories that you're getting from feeding fats.
However, the nice thing is that fat is the only thing you can feed that
doesn't add anything to the ration EXCEPT for calories---so you don't
end up feeding excessive protein, or phosphorus or anything
else---you're JUST adding calories to the diet.

Was that what you were asking...?

If not, yell.
