Re: sad news
I had the privilege to ride with Cheryl in 1988 when I did Dave Nicholson's
1000 mile XP challenge. She rode in the first two events so I saw a lot of
her. She was shall we say directionally challenged on the trail and was
forever getting off the trail. One minute she would be right behind then
she would disappear. I remember riding across the prairie towards Dugway
pass which is quite visible so we were just working our way across country
to it. Cheryl was right behind me then all of the sudden she
disappeared-later found out she decided to follow some sheepherder off into
the hinderland thinking he was a competitor. That mare of hers was
tough-for all the extra miles she still finished top ten. They were quite
a team-Cheryl will be missed.

For those of you that were priviledged to know the incredible team of
Cougars Scat and Cheryl Kendrick. Cheryl passed away on Monday after a long
battle with cancer. Endurance riding was her great love and Cheryl/Scat
were always great competition and companions on the trail.
