trails near Chambersburg, PA, Michaux State Forest?
Central Pennsylvanians: please help us
find a home near Chambersburg, PA trails. Jeff starts a new job in Scotland for
Letterkenny Army Base June 8th. He's staying in West Fayetteville this
weekend looking at houses, apts, farms. Where is the best place to be to
be near the MOST BEST LONGEST HORSEABLE TRAILS? Are there horse-friendly
counties or townships? From the topo maps it looks like the Mts.. to the
west are too steep, and the Mts.. to the east less steep, but contain the Appal.
Trail. Would it be too much public relations hassle to live near (and have
to tiptoe around and cross) the "no horses allowed anymore"
Appalachian Trail (near Caledonia), or are there horse-able trails running
alongside it in any places so that it would be OK? Does anyone ride in the
Michaux State Forest?
