Mexico Smoke

The smoke cover has hit SW New Mexico and Tall Pines is 3 days away.
I'd like to know if there is any harm running a horse 55 miles with the 
smoke so thick the sun is completely blocked out? The elevation is 
between 7000 to 9500 ft.
A worried rider....
