getting started

Hi all! This is my first time sending out a request so please bear with
me....I have a 6yr old Peruvian Paso gelding ( I know the
Arab,thoroughbred,other breeds are better  for this type of competition but I
like this guy alot), 18 mos under saddle, very level headed though hasn't seen
the whole world yet; anyway the BIG question is how do I/we get started? We
are on the eastern slope of Colorado and would appreciate any and all info.
