Yes, Adequan was recently approved for use on dogs. There is a press release
on the subject posted on the web site http://www.thehorse.com; it is in their
"this week's news" section.
Of great interest also on that site, in the previous week's news roundup, is a
research report from the Animal Health Trust in the UK. They have linked EIPH
(exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage) ("bleeding") with concussion of the
feet transferred up the leg, through the shoulder to the spine. Bleeding
usually is localized in the part of the lungs adjacent to the spine...so our
discussion of shock-absorbing horseshoes earlier this week may take on new
significance in years to come....
