Actually, it has been my experience that stallions are much more likely to
bite and strike. While mares are much more likely to kick. As a general
rule, I have found that you need to watch out for the front end of a
stallion and the back end of a mare.

Geldings (the confused beings that they are) may or may not be likely to
do any or all three.

I actually find that it is AS A GROUP that mares are more likely to kick,
while as individuals that ain't necessarily so. I, however, don't deal
very much with geldings.

I don't allow them in my pasture because they cause nothing but trouble if
there are any mares around (which there are). I have found that they have
trouble deciding whether they want to act like males or not. Give me an
entire male any day, they are dead predictible :).
