It is my experience, and I have read this also, that, with exceptions, of
course, it is not the dominant horses that kick, but those further down in
the pecking order.  The herd leaders (in larger herds) are more tolerant
and magnanimous, whereas those at the bottom will fight with teeth and
nails to defend perceived threats to their rank, i.e. anyone's thinking
they can get off with bumping into them or any other such infraction.--Eka
