woolback vs equalizer

1.When used with a SS which saddle pad, the toklat woolback  or the equalizer keeps the horses back cooler ?   I have used a woolback for three years and there is a great deal of heat build up.  A friend recently purchased an equalizer and is concerned about how hot under the saddle her horse became as compared with her old felt pad (which did slip a bit and inspired her to buy the new pad). Need some feedback, thank you in advance.
