I'm also interested in the answer to this question.  Our barn does not ban
back shoes but it seems everytime a horse is injuried out in the pasture
everyone always points to the horse whereing back shoes as the "bad" one.
Plus my new mare doesn't need them, at least not at our level yet.  Judy, also
