Riding at night
In my experience it is better not to use any lite at all when riding at
night. I leave the horse to pick his own way along the trail. I've found
that any lite that youre able to carry with you isn't powerfull enough to
be of any benefit to you or the horse and infact interferes with their
natural ability to see in the dark. Crack a whip or fire a shot in a horses
paddock at night and notice how they move around their paddock without any
problems. I think that the point was made, that a glow stick or lite on the
back of the saddle blinds the person riding behind you.
